An incredible start to the day, qualifying in second place. That is an astonishing result for me in a classic Sprint. I have been working on my classic all year and this was the first time I could see the results of that work. I was extremely pleased with the day. I learned a lot through the three stages of racing. It was part of the race plan to put the focus into the qualifier, then move onto the semi-final and as I reached the final, then focus on that. I can’t say how happy I am with the fact I was in the middle of all this. Was in the hunt for most of the final until the last climb. I just came up short in the last to fight to the line for a podium spot. I learned a lot from today’s races and look forward to testing out the classic form in future races.
I get a few days off from racing as I rest and refocus for Biathlon. A Biathlon Short on Saturday, followed by a Middle distance on Sunday and the final race of the Canmore IPC World Cup will be a Long distance race on Tuesday.
